Job Purpose

Buist is seeking an experienced AV Solutions Architect. The candidate will be responsible for client relationships, conducting needs analysis, developing estimates, developing scopes of work, and managing both their clients and projects through completion. This position requires a strong understanding of audio-visual principles, design, as well as relationship and project management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, build, and grow the depth of client relationships for the AV Department
  • Conduct needs analysis to determine and document a client’s user experience
  • Design innovative, financially viable, and reliable systems that meet our clients’ requirements while remaining competitive in the market
  • Create and present proposals, including accurate scopes of work that fulfill a client’s needs identified during needs analysis
  • Collaborate with Tech Manpower Coordinator and other members of the AV Department to develop project plans and timetables
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings with assigned AV Department staff
  • Communicate design intent with assigned AV Department staff
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse and Procurement Department to order and track project equipment and parts
  • Collaborate with the Project Administrator to complete project submittal and closeout documentation
  • Manage client expectations by owning the technical design, making appropriate adjustments during the project timeframe, and communicating with project stakeholders
  • Ability to test integrated systems and train clients on use; develop and write client operation manuals as needed
  • Obtain and maintain vendor and AV industry standard certifications
  • Assist with educating, training, and mentoring staff to further their professional growth and development
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with architects, consulting engineers, specification writers, building owners, and contractors, to promote company products and services
  • Meet with vendor reps to develop relationships for technical unity, best-selling practices, competitive pricing schemes, and the latest in innovation and marketplace direction
  • Attend and support trade events

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of AV industry experience in a sales, design, project management, or other technical capacity with a proven track record of successful and profitable project completion with client retention, is required
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification within 120 days of hire date is required
  • Ability to conceptualize an AV design to support a client’s user experience based upon a needs analysis walkthrough, inbound request, or design schematics is required
  • Ability to create pre-sales design schematics and signal-flow diagrams, with the ability to interpret construction drawings, is required
  • Ability to create effective project plans that allow for successful AV project integration is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, good organization, and capable of handling multiple assignments is required
  • In-depth knowledge of past and current audio, video, and control systems and equipment is required
  • Understanding of AVIXA, BICSI, AQAV, and PMI best practices to support the successful design and integration of AV systems is required

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or technical program preferred
  • AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D) preferred
  • PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) is highly preferred
  • Manufacturer certifications such as Crestron, QSC, Biamp, and/or Atlona are preferred
  • Proficiency in BlueBeam, Visio, and/or CAD/REVIT preferred

Work Hours

  • Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm
