SECURITY SOLUTIONS ENGINEER

This position will involve working alongside Buist’s sales engineers and project managers to service, install, configure, program, and commission security solutions in a variety of facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Buist’s project managers on designs, estimates, and scheduling
  • Configure and commission network connected video recording servers
  • Surveillance system programming, commissioning, and service
  • Access control solution deployment, programming, commissioning, and service
  • Install low-voltage wire and hardware for video surveillance and access control systems
  • Termination and testing of all electronic connections
  • Installation, configuration, and setup of network appliances and applications
  • Respond to customer service calls, troubleshoot, and repair various types of systems
  • Obtain and maintain education and certifications
  • Coordinate and manage the installation of projects with customers, contractors, and installation technicians
  • Develop, conduct, and document customer presentations and training
  • Participate in the development of project drawings and documentation
  • Review drawings, specifications, and other project data
  • Participate in project meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work closely with project managers and the installation team to meet project schedules
  • Develop written reports and closeout documentation
  • Develop respect and trust among project managers, customers, and peers

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years installing and servicing card access and video surveillance systems
  • Experience using Mercury based access control platforms and open infrastructure video management solutions
  • Preferred experience using the following systems: Avigilon, Axis, LenelS2, Alta, Milestone, Open Options, and Tridium
  • Understanding of electronic circuits and electrical installation codes
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Email etiquette
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Good communication skills

Work Hours

  • Hours are typically Monday through Friday
  • Hours are typically 1st shift
  • After-hours response to customer service may be required

Work Conditions

While performing the duties of this position, individuals may be required to stand for extended periods using handheld equipment and power tools. May spend time walking and standing around various types of facilities and environments. May lift and carry up to 50lbs. May encounter frequent climbing of stairs and ladders. May need to work from aerial equipment. May need to work outdoors in extreme warm and cold conditions as well as controlled indoor environments such as offices and server rooms.
