AMWAY - THE COMMONS

Ada, MI

Buist served as the electrical contractor for Amway’s renovation of “The Commons,” totaling 72,000 sq.ft.

Partnering with Rockford Construction, Buist’s Contracting and Outdoor Utilities teams completed a full renovation of existing office areas, the campus cafeteria, and exterior landscaping. The upgraded interior now features a full-service kitchen, coffee bar, grab-n-go station, over 20 meeting and collaboration rooms, and a new executive board room and offices.

The existing building front was demolished, and new Gluelam wood timber was erected to create a new front entrance. The wood timber system was unique, and extensive coordination went into concealing MEP installations. This gave a fresh new look to the curb appeal, aligning with the aesthetic of the recently updated Ada Village.

Buist also upgraded the facility’s lighting infrastructure by integrating an advanced lighting control system with the existing Cooper Wavelinx core processor. This enhancement enables Amway to remotely view, program, and troubleshoot lighting systems, delivering long-term operational efficiency.

Laser scanning technology supported the precise installation of architectural elements such as stair railings and custom lighting. A unique design highlight is the hand-crafted decorative fixture from Preciosa, made in the Czech Republic and featured in the executive board room.

Construction began in April 2023 and was completed in May 2025.
