Buist’s contracting department assisted Rockford Construction in the construction of the Amway Treehouse. This project, located at Amway headquarters in Ada, MI, consisted of remodeling existing office space and transforming it into a new collaboration hub; The Treehouse. The project began in September 2022 with the goal of creating more collaborative spaces for Amway employees to enjoy. By September 2023, the old 2nd and 3rd floor offices were newly converted into meeting rooms, enclaves, and a wide variety of modern open seating options. The space utilizes unique lighting features including decorative pendants, stair tread lights and a liner fixture that encircle the open center staircase.
A substantial portion of the job included removing the concrete floor on the third level in order to open the ceiling from the 2nd floor up to the 3rd. This allowed for a new staircase with light stair treads to be installed. As a way of obtaining accurate dimensions on the light fixture Buist utilized laser scanning equipment ensuring the highest level of quality.
