Buist is proud to have served as the electrical BIM partner for the new Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency Career Connect Campus. This cutting-edge, 160,000 sq. ft. facility is designed to empower the next generation of students by offering hands-on career education pathways in fields such as arts, automotive, welding, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, health sciences, animal sciences, and more.
Buist’s scope of work included the complete electrical system installation, fire alarm systems and gas detection integration. Our Contracting, Outdoor Utilities, Testing, and Engineering departments all played a role in delivering this project successfully. The team also leveraged Trimble technology to enhance productivity and accuracy throughout construction.
The project was part of a MIOSHA partnership, demonstrating a shared commitment to jobsite safety and quality. As an added highlight, Buist welcomed a KRESA co-op student to work alongside our team onsite, aligning directly with the building’s mission to create real-world learning opportunities.
Overall, the team installed approximately 51 miles of conduit, 113 miles of wire, and 1,845 light fixtures. Construction began in April 2023 and was completed in July 2025 in partnership with CSM Group as the general contractor.
Buist is proud to contribute to a project that will inspire and equip students across Southwest Michigan for decades to come.
