Buist served as the electrical contractor for the renovation of nearly 30,000 sq.ft. of office space in downtown Grand Rapids. Working with Rockford, Buist provided electrical construction and acceptance testing for the project, which was completed in just 10 months.

Buist’s scope included new LED lighting and lighting controls, electrical distribution equipment, transformers, power panels with submetering, receptacles, equipment connections, floor boxes, underfloor raceway, and power for motorized shades. Buist also provided rough-in for data, card access, and audio visual systems.

A significant component of the project was the extensive lighting package, which included specialty fixtures sourced primarily from Italy and Canada. The project team held weekly progress meetings with the owner and lighting vendors to coordinate procurement and installation throughout construction.
