Brick and Brine is a new American Fare restaurant in the Radisson Plaza Hotel located in downtown Kalamazoo. This project started with a complete demolition and remodel of the existing space. The newly remodeled restaurant now features private event rooms, a main dining area, a bar, and lounge seating. In addition to the remodel, is a 1,369 sq.ft. addition that includes sliding glass walls for an open-air concept during warmer months. Buist had three departments contracted on this project. The Communications Department completed networking, audio visual, wireless and card access points, and the Testing Department conducted a load study.
Our Service Department also played a large role in the construction of Brick and Brine. They installed new electrical panels while reworking and upgrading existing ones, and brought power to new HVAC units, kitchen equipment, and hoods. They installed a Crestron network lighting system and new fixtures that together, are programmed to control a variety of scenes.
Once the project was nearly completed, our Testing department completed a load study. A load study is done to determine load study to determine and verify the systems proper performance during normal and high load conditions. These studies are crucial to ensure that systems function properly under real life circumstances and usage situations.
This project was completed in 9 months. Buist was fortunate help provide Brick and Brine with everything they needed to create their ideal atmosphere and have successful operations in their new restaurant.
