The Feeding America West MI project involved converting an existing 120,000 sq.ft. warehouse into a modern facility with offices, a large cooler and freezer, and enhanced warehouse space. Buist’s Contracting, Outdoor Utilities, Audio Visual, Communications, Security Solutions, and Testing departments contributed to the project’s success. All low-voltage systems were design build, while electrical work was design assist.
The scope of work included the installation of three network closets connected with fiber optics, along with all low-voltage cabling for data, security, and audio visual systems. Multiple audio visual solutions were integrated into the office for conferencing, presentations, and recording. A paging system was installed for the warehouse. The security system features an Avigilon Unity Access Control platform, utilizing Mercury controllers equipped with HID Signo readers, PIR motion sensors, and door contacts. The video surveillance system includes a Milestone XProtect Express+ system with a 48TB server supporting 40 Hanwha cameras.
