Buist Electric had the opportunity to help in the construction of Michigan State University’s new office area in downtown Grand Rapids. This new office is located in the Medical Innovation Building along the medical mile.
Buist’s Communications Department installed data cabling, fiber backbone, and data room cabinets, all of which had to follow Michigan State University’s specifications. One of these specs was to use green Category 6 cabling to match their school colors. In total, 58,000 feet of Category 6 cabling was installed for this project. While following all Michigan State’s standards and tight time frame, Buist Communications was able to outfit MSU with everything they needed for their new office building. This project was started in December 2021 and finished May 2022, despite the ambitious schedule the project was finished on time.
Buist is grateful for the opportunity to work with a school such as Michigan State University. The presence of a large university in the Grand Rapids area is a sign of growth and Buist is proud to be a main contributor on this project. We are excited by the current and future growth of Grand Rapids and the opportunities to come.
