Phase one of Unity Christian High School’s expansion included 38,750 sq.ft. of renovations and new construction. Buist’s Contracting, Outdoor Utilities, and Testing departments contributed to the project alongside Lakewood Construction and GMB Architecture & Engineering in a design assist role.
The scope of work involved targeted renovations at connection points within the existing building, along with the addition of classrooms and expanded parking. Specialized spaces were also added for wood shop, CAD/engineering, and science labs, supporting hands-on, STEM-based learning opportunities for students.
A key quality control measure was the electrical rough-in for the precast concrete panels, which were completed offsite at Fabcon. Leveraging lessons learned from past projects, Buist implemented improved methods to increase efficiency during this phase of construction.
Phase two is underway, stay tuned as it wraps up! Buist is proud to support a project that enhances educational opportunities and invests in the development of the next generation.
