In the summer of 2022, Berrien Springs school officially unveiled their brand-new 76,000 sq.ft. Arts and Athletic Center. The addition gives students and faculty the much-needed space for practices, games, and performances. Previously, choir students went to the middle school for their classes, band students utilized the cafeteria, and athletes had practices late at night or very early in the morning due to the extreme lack of space.
The new $20 Million Arts and Athletic Center now gives the school the space, technology, and facilities they need in order to provide for and improve their arts and athletic programs. The facility features a 750-seat performance theater, dressing rooms, main lobby, concessions area, gymnasium with a tournament court and three practice courts, locker rooms, fitness/weightlifting center, band and choir practice rooms, classrooms, and offices.
Buist Electric provided all electrical, outdoor utilities, automation, testing, engineering, and other electrical service work for Berrien Springs. Buist completed the generator installation, site lighting, engineering, and analytic services. Using Trimble on this project, all feeders and the majority of branch conduits were run underground. The project was completed in June of 2022 and the facility was immediately put to use for the remainder of summer practices and performances.
Berrien Springs is confident that this new Arts and Athletic Center will provide the resources needed not only now, but also throughout the future growth of the district.
