Buist partnered with Tower Pinkster and Owen-Ames-Kimball to provide electrical design assist services for Prein & Newhof’s new laboratory located in Grand Rapids. The 12,700 sq.ft. facility doubled its water testing capacity and includes a main laboratory featuring exhaust fume hoods, a walk-in cooler for sample storage, and dedicated workspaces for testing staff.
Adjacent to the main lab are three additional testing spaces that support specialized testing equipment and processes, along with a walk-in cooler for sample staging, a new delivery dock, Troxler testing storage, field testing staff storage, workspaces, and a staff break and meeting room. The lobby includes a main reception and sample collection area, process spaces, field test kit staging, a consultation room for small customer meetings, and staff offices.
Buist’s Contracting, Engineering, and Testing teams all contributed to the successful completion of the laboratory. The Contracting team provided power to the facility and installed lighting throughout the space, while the Testing department performed an arc flash study and conducted equipment testing.
