Buist provided outdoor utility, service, AV, and communications services for the renovation of the Ronald McDonald House in West Michigan. The renovation consisted of both commercial and residential elements and Buist was a design-build partner. The project titled “More Rooms, More Love” consisted of two phases.
The first phase was remodeling the kitchen so that there was a divider wall to make it into two separate usable kitchens. One side of the kitchen adapts better to families and their needs. Meanwhile, the new kitchen is for volunteers donating time to make meals for families. Separating the two kitchens gives the residents more privacy and lets them feel more at home. The second phase of the renovation consisted of adding a 2-stall garage and a breezeway to connect the garage to the house.
When asked about any challenges the project encountered, project manager Nick Duiven said, “The challenges from how this impacted the community were trying to get this completed by the project completion date so that RMH could use the rooms for families that were in need for a place that they could call home and be close to their child while receiving special care. This impacted Buist from a company standpoint allowing us to be part of such a special place in West Michigan that impacts so many families in Michigan.”
We are honored to be a part of a project that will serve the community for years to come.
