About Alpha Grand Rapids
Alpha Grand Rapids is a Christian organization that has served women and men affected by unplanned pregnancy for 40 years. The organization provides free, personalized, and confidential care based on each client’s individual needs. Through its Step-Up Mentoring Program, clients can also connect with trained mentors who provide ongoing support and encouragement. In 2025, Alpha Grand Rapids served 1,146 families and distributed 184,800 diapers.
Previous Partnerships
Buist has supported Alpha Grand Rapids through diaper drives, volunteer projects, and mentor appreciation efforts. Each year, our team holds a month-long diaper drive to collect donations for families served by the organization. In November, several employees volunteered to clean and organize the Women’s Center basement storage area and bundle diapers for distribution. In May, our team also assembled appreciation bags for Alpha mentors. These efforts have given our team opportunities to serve Alpha beyond the work we do on its facilities.
Past Projects
Buist’s relationship with Alpha Grand Rapids extends back several years and includes work at both the Women’s Center and Men’s Center. Buist served as the Design Build electrical partner for the Alpha Men’s Center, completing electrical work as part of its new construction. Since then, our team has completed a variety of electrical and communications projects for Alpha, including network cabling and testing, lighting upgrades, electrical panel replacement, heat tape connections, and ongoing electrical service and troubleshooting.
Current Project
Alpha Grand Rapids is currently renovating its two-story Women’s Center and constructing a new 13,240 sq.ft. addition. Buist is serving as the Design Build electrical partner alongside EV Construction. Once complete, the expanded facility will include renovated medical rooms, office space, a shopping center, and additional areas for Alpha’s programs and services.
Stay tuned for a full project portfolio once construction is complete!
