This year, Buist is celebrating the 20th anniversary of our Kalamazoo location.
In 2006, Buist expanded south with the purchase of Tudor Electric in Kalamazoo. Despite challenging economic conditions at the time, the expansion strengthened our team and created new opportunities for growth. Over the past two decades, Buist has continued Raising The Standard in the electrical industry while investing in the Kalamazoo community.
Since the beginning, Buist’s mission has been to honor God in all we do, consider employees’ well-being as essential, provide customers with superior service, and share our resources with those in need. Through the Buist Foundation, employee-led giving initiatives, and service projects, our Kalamazoo team continues to put that mission into action by serving in ways that are important to them.
Over the years, our Kalamazoo team has contributed to projects throughout the community, including the Kalamazoo Country Club, Kalamazoo Regional Education Service Agency Career Connect Campus, Road Commission of Kalamazoo County, and Stryker Kalamazoo. Today, that work continues with the Kalamazoo Event Center, which is currently under construction. We are grateful for the relationships we have built through these projects and for the employees whose hardwork make them possible.
As we celebrate 20 years in Kalamazoo, we are celebrating the people who have helped build our presence there. Today, 45% of our Kalamazoo team have been with Buist for five or more years, helping lead and develop the next generation.
We are grateful to be part of the Kalamazoo community and look forward to continuing our work and Raising The Standard for years to come.
