Over the past year, Buist’s Contracting and Engineering departments completed both a new construction project and a building expansion for Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing (GRAM). Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing is a pharmaceutical manufacturer of sterile injectable therapeutics. Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, GRAM serves the global pharma and biotech industry with customized solutions that meet clients’ fill and finish needs.
This project began in August 2021 and was completed in September 2022. The GRAM project has so far featured two phases, phase one being a new build project and phase two being an expansion of the existing facility. Buist Engineering completed the BIM for this project and assisted Rockwell Engineering with the building management system for the facility. This project consisted of expanding the existing space and the addition of new cleanrooms. Buist’s scope of work included installing various new control panels, disconnects, Rockwell controls, emergency lighting control relays, master control for the new boilers, a new primary switch, transformers, and a substation. Additionally, a new electrical room was added at GRAM’s facility and installation provisions were made for a future 2500amp substation. Phases one and two are complete and the third phase of this project is underway. Buist is looking forward to continuing working with GRAM.
