Buist’s Contracting team partnered with Granger Construction to renovate the 23,000 sq.ft. sixth floor of Mary Free Bed. The renovated space includes patient rooms, common areas, gym and training rooms, and nurses’ stations, all designed to support healing and rehabilitation. The project was completed in two phases.
Phase one focused on critical infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of an 800 amp equipment branch I Line panel backed by an 800 amp automatic transfer switch. Our team also installed a new chiller on the seventh floor, a cooling tower with associated pumps, and replaced two large air handling units in the mechanical room to ensure efficient and dependable climate control. Phase two centered on finishing systems and technology integration. Buist installed new lighting fixtures and lighting controls, provided and installed raceway for nurse call, data, and access control systems, and Aiva Integration for lighting, window shades, and other room functions.
Buist is proud to support a project that will bring healing to many.
