Buist provided contracting, outdoor utilities, communications, automation, audio visual, and testing services for the recent 113,000 sq.ft. addition and renovation to HT Hackney’s warehouse and office space.
HT Hackney is one of the largest wholesale distributors in the United States, with a location in Wyoming, Michigan. Their capabilities include food services, retail space management, advertising, and marketing services, as well as customer re-imaging.
Buist was a Design Build partner on this project. The warehouse addition is 90,000 sq.ft., and includes 50,000 sq.ft. of storage space, 14 new truck docks, and 40,000 sq.ft. remains for future storage. The freezer addition was 23,000 sq.ft. including a 3,000 sq.ft. ice cream freezer. Renovations to the existing cooler included new racking, lighting upgrades, and four new truck docks. Buist provided a new 1000kw generator. The new generator is large enough to back up the entire addition, the cooler and freezer equipment, the new site lighting, and the power for truck block heaters outside the receiving space.
HT Hackney’s renovation and addition began in July 2022 and was completed in February 2024.
